Default Monk/Paragon Build PvP newbie question.

Hi all, im new to the forum and im trying to gain a background of information before i take the plunge and make a pvp char. i really have no knowledge of the game except forum trolling and reading about each class description.

i like the idea of playing a paragon combined with a monk.
im assuming this would take the role of utility with shouts/buffs and "some" damage and backup heals? if i have the wrong idea then please say so.

i understand each class on their own would be stronger but i like to play a char with options.

to get an idea of the kind of chars i like to play from previous games.....
DAOC: skald/minstrel/cleric (skald:which is why i like the idea of shouts from the paragon)
EQ2: Warden/Fury
Lineage 2: Overlord/Prophet

Im open to suggestions. im really overwelmed with the amount of skills each class has.....if this option works how should i split the levels? if the max is 20, then 10/10 or so? if it works like that.

this should be a pure pvp build.

also if this is viable would it better to go Monk/Para or Para/Monk for the extra "line" of skills? im making this post on the paragon forum too to get another point of view.

Thankyou very much to anyone who replies.
